Premium Raw MIlk

Happy, healthy cows produce the best-tasting milk. Our herd is grazed on diverse pastures throughout the year. We are intentional about cleanliness and quality, cooling our milk immediately and bottling it several times a week to ensure all milk leaving the farm is as fresh and creamy as possible.

Local Honey

We partner with a local beekeeper, Backyard Apiaries, to keep a row of hives in our pasture. In addition to the bees pollinating our trees and flowers, we have honey as local as it gets! We also carry their Orange Blossom, Clover, and PA Wildflower honeys.

FAQs

Are your cows 100% grass-fed?

We graze as much as we can throughout the year. We give the milking cows some locally sourced barley at milking time; we never use GMOs, corn, or soybeans. As the diversity in our pastures increases, they’re getting more legumes, forbs, herbs, and tree foliage, not just grass! This greatly increases the availability of plant compounds that are health-giving and medicinal.

Are you certified Organic?

No, but we do not use herbicides, pesticides, or artificial fertilizers on our fields. Our animals do not get hormone injections, vaccines, or pharmaceutical antibiotics. We do apply microbial stimulants, manure, and trace minerals to boost soil fertility.

Are you A2?

No, we have never tested our herd. We believe a raw and natural diet is more important.

Is raw milk safe to drink?

Not all raw milk is produced to be consumed without pasteurization. Look for milk produced by cows in a clean environment, not fed high levels of grain, and tested routinely for harmful bacteria. The cows should be tested to ensure that they are free of Tuberculosis and Brucellosis.

What do you feed your cows in the winter if you’re only grass-fed?

We cut extra forage in the spring and summer and store it in bales. We also buy as much as we need from other farmers.

What breed of cows do you have?

We originally started with Holstein. But now with crossbreeding and buying other animals, we have Jersey, Norwegian Red, Pinzgauer, Dexter, and Normandy influences. If you come see our herd, it looks like a kaleidoscope!

What is the plan for all the trees that you planted?

There are many reasons to plant a tree! For us on the farm, it’s to add another layer of sunlight capturing, provide shade for the cows, produce fruit and nuts for the people, all while increasing resistance to weather extremes, such as drought and flooding.

What kind of trees are growing in your pasture?

The planting along the rows has black locust and chestnuts along with some honey locust. We also have a small orchard where we have apples and peaches with a few plums and pears.

Can I buy milk from you to resell?

Yes, we have a number of produce stands and farm markets that we deliver to on a regular basis. We are looking to expand this into other areas.
